In this period of back to re-confinement, there is a desire of positivity and very often good memories help. This is why I decided to re-open a wine that I discovered this summer in Abruzzo region, more precisely during the unforgettable visit to Tenuta i Fauri (see my post https://elenacapella.com/a-sip-of-abruzzo ).

I’m talking about Abruzzo DOC Pecorino 2019: this golden white wine releases a very intense aroma that is immediately characterized by its typical thiol notes which then give way to notes of acacia, white flowers, even a light note of tropical fruits such as mango. In the mouth, the taste is indeed intense and persistent; we can perceive a good minerality and a correct acidity that allow a voluptuous and continuous drink.

It is the fifth of the 6 bottles purchased, tasted at different times and accompanying different dishes: from the aperitif, to pasta or grilled fish, this wine is truly wide-ranging. Today I paired it with goat-based “tomini al verde” (green tomini): a perfect combination between the freshness of the wine and the delicacy of the cheese.

Fortunately (or rather alas…) I still have a bottle left.
