Caught by the label: the more I stare at it, the more I feel like Mowgli hypnotized by the snake Kaa.
I feel catapulted into a labyrinth, or rather lost in searching, in vain, for a meaning in an Escher drawing.
Fortunately, everything becomes clear when I uncork the bottle and pour the wine: this Pecorino 2020 from DOC Falerio, a wine-growing area in the Italian Marche region in the Ascoli area, with a straw yellow color and silver reflections, opens with a strong citrus tone, orange, cedar. Then a variegated fruity note of tropical fruits, papaya, banana, kiwi, melon, honey explodes: a real olfactory labyrinth! In the mouth the freshness prevails which goes hand in hand with the softness and warm sensation of its 13% vol.
I really appreciated this Pecorino Boccafornace signed by Cantine Fontezoppa, so different from a Pecorino of Offida, its neighbour. I tried it with an evening aperitif based on farinata and home made snacks, but I would recommend it accompanied with grilled fish.
Here is the key to get out of the maze: just sip and relax!
