That’s what happens. That you are with friends and they show up with a bottle of wine with a bright orange color that leaves you quite sceptical.
It is an “orange wine”, a Rençel 2013 that comes directly from Slovenia. The aroma shows notes of apricot, dried fruit, jam, lightly spicy. But it’s when you taste that everything changes: warm, intense, very soft and definitively dry. It invades the palate and you can feel a beautiful mineral touch that persists over time.
It is a wine that at first glance may seem difficult, complex, perhaps not for everyone. It is very appreciated as an aperitif with charcuterie and tasty cheeses. Try it also with red meat dishes as strong as game.
